COWL® compact silencer

The Cowl® compact silencer system is the ideal solution wherever high silencing performance is required in small installation spaces. Compared to conventional silencers, the compact design allows you to achieve savings of

  • Approx. 65% of the installation volume
  • Approx. 50% of the weight

The attenuation principle is based on the linear propagation of sound waves, which are refracted by the spiral-shaped inner wall and are further attenuated as they travel through the spiral. Thanks to its special design, the range of applications for the Cowl® is virtually unlimited. This compact silencer can be used for applications in vehicle or machine construction as well as in plant engineering. The noise emissions of diesel, petrol and gas engines can be sustainably reduced.

We always take into account the exhaust regulations, the engine manufacturer’s specifications and the maximum possible installation space. WEIHE-Cowl® compact silencer

The Cowl® compact sound attenuator system is the ideal solution wherever high attenuation performance is required in small installation spaces. The damping principle is based on the straight-line propagation of sound waves, which break on the spiral-shaped inner wall and are further damped as they travel through the spiral.

Disk compact silencer

The disk compact silencers are ideal for limited installation space. They are resistant to high temperatures and are characterized by a flat, disc-shaped design.
The silencers in the DCK-2 and DHK series achieve a high attenuation of up to 45 dB(A) and are available in connection diameters from 102 mm (4”) to 457 mm (18”). As a more compact variant, we recommend the Cowl® MicroDisk in sizes from 32 mm (1.25”) to 51 mm (2”), with an attenuation of up to 35 dB(A). Disk silencers are commercially available with the following features:

  • Made of aluminized steel
  • Optionally made of stainless steel 1.4301 (V2A) or 1.4404
  • Other dimensions available on request

Thanks to the compact design of the Cowl® compact silencers, you save approx. 65% of the construction volume and approx. 50% of the weight of a comparable absorption silencer.
As a standard model, the TS series achieves an insertion loss of up to 28 dB(A). In comparison, the MS series offers eight fixed mounting points, which means that an additional mounting bracket is not required. For higher insertion loss requirements of up to 33 dB(A), we recommend the TXS series, the standards remain the same. The TXP series is characterized by an additional reflection chamber and an insertion loss of up to 35 dB(A).
